My Wingback Chair

Awhile back I saw this awesome pin on pinterest about painting a fabric chair. I've been wanting to fill an empty space in our living room and thought a cool, wingback chair would be perfect. So, I scoured craigslist for a few weeks and finally scored one for $20! Great condition, even had the original tag on the bottom. This baby was made in 1982, same year as me--it was fate. Gathered all my supplies, followed the directions here and made use of my kid-less time. BOOM. Wicked cool chair, done. I love it!

5 years

June 16th marked our 5 year anniversary! We weren't going to do anything super special but our great friend offered to watch the kids for us overnight so we could go out and sleep in! It wasn't until she emphasized that this was a "big one" that I really stopped to think about it. With the common trend being a quick divorce among people our age and especially in our military lifestyle, 5 years is a big milestone.
For us, it seems like just yesterday we said our vows--we've lived in 3 different homes and endured over 22 months apart. When I think back to the weekend I met Garrett not much has changed. I knew from that moment that I was going to marry him (love at first sight DOES exist!),  and I know now we've built a strong foundation for our marriage that will last forever.

Happy Anniversary my love, the best is yet to be.

Big Fish, Little Pond

Garrett has been trying since Spring to catch one of the enormous bass that swim just near the edge of our little pond. They swim around, taunting him and his 17 hooks he's tried. He finally caught a pretty good sized one the other day. The giant ones are still in there...stay tuned!
