Ohio Style

For the second leg of our month long vacation we headed over to Daddy's hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. Jackson had lots of fun playing on the piano with Grandpa and playing with Daddy's old toys with Grandma. In the pictures below, it looks like all we did was eat--we DID do a lot of that, but I promise-we also played and had a great time doing it up...Ohio style!

Jackson's first experience with chicken wings---he devoured them! The funny thing about it was I emailed these pictures to Garrett and his response was, "I hope he sleeps okay, I've had a few rough nights in my day after eating chicken wings." Well, it turns out Daddy knows best--poor Jack was up ALL night with a bellyache! Sorry pal, mommy doesn't eat wings so she didn't know they would do that to you!

Indiana Visit

Jackson and I decided to take a month long vacation while Daddy is gone to break up our time alone in California. We will be splitting our vacation between my family and Garrett's. Our first 2 weeks were in Indiana. Jackson had a great time visiting his Grammy and Papa and it was a FANTASTIC break from full time mommy duty for me!

Sleepy Head

Jack has been getting more teeth which always means his sleep schedule is off and he usually doesn't nap well and is extra cranky. I went in to check on him in his crib after my 3rd attempt at putting him down for a nap and found him asleep with a blanket over his head! I quickly got the video camera but I was making so much noise trying to hold my laughter in that I woke him up again~!

Mommy's Little Helper

Jack has now started to "help" Mommy clean up around the house--aka throwing EVERYTHING in the trash. This week he discovered that dirty diapers go in the garbage and has now declared this his chore. How nice for Mommy to have some help around here!

Daddy Brings Out The Best In Jack...

I try to show Jackson pictures or a video of Garrett each day--tonight I showed him a video from Garrett's last deployment. He was reading Jack a book, The Story of Farts. As you can see, Daddy clearly brings out the best in his son! Nose picking and laughing at farts---a mother's dream!
