Oddly, we had a whole week of rain here in Southern California last week! We were pretty much cooped up inside for most of the week so I decided to play dress up with Gracie Girl. My 4 month is getting prettier each day! I don't know where Grace and Jack got these beautiful blue eyes from, but I LOVE THEM!

Big Boy Bed!
With Jack turning 2 and demanding more independence, we decided to convert his crib to a big boy bed. It was bittersweet for Mommy, easier on my back but a sad reminder that he is no longer my "baby boy." Seriously, where does the time go?? So far, he LOVES it and has only gotten out a few times. We'll see how it goes in the upcoming weeks...

"You're Hilarious...No, You're Hilarious!"
I was being silly with Jack last night at dinner with Gracie on my lap. She started cracking up at him so I did what any mother would do...grabbed the video camera! This video makes staying home on a Friday night seem like the best thing in the world!

Sibling Love...
From the day Jackson met his sister, he has been ALL over her! Grace has learned to be a tough little girl at a very young age---I guess I'm lucky he's normally so sweet to her, if only it would last through teenage years!
Ice Cream!!
We took Jack to the Winter Wonderland festival they had on base this weekend. It was supposed to be a chance for the kids to play in the snow and games, etc. It turned out to not be as good as we'd hoped, so we left and went out to dinner!! It was actually the first time it was just the 4 of us going out for dinner. Jack is at the age where EVERYTHING is fun to touch and sitting still is nearly impossible so Garrett was anticipating the worst---but to our delight, Jack was REALLY good. I actually think he was just starved--he ate 3 pieces of pizza!! Anyway--for a treat, I let him get an ice cream cone for the ride home. The pictures below show what awaited me when we got home. Brilliant idea Mommy.

Rose Parade
On New Year's Day we headed over to Pasadena to visit with Garrett's Aunt Kathy and her husband Joe. They were in town for the Rose Bowl and visiting Joe's son, John. We all attended the Rose Parade--it was a first for our family and lots of fun! Jack LOVED all the horses and marching bands. It's so fun to see him get excited over things these days. I think everyone around us now knows how much he loves "hories!" I was also glad to put a check in one of the boxes of my California to-do list for this year! Stay tuned for more California Adventures...next up, the La Brea Tarpits!
